Bike to Work Day is tommorow!!! Is everyone ready? I am, woot!

Speaking of, I've successfully biked to/from work for the last 2 and half weeks, putting about about 100 miles on my bike in the process. woot. Other than A) falling off my bike trying to get off and B) taking a 3 mile "i'm not lost but I don't know how to get out of this damn subdivision" detour, it's going well. Until today, in which it was very very hot. Bleah. But I saw about four times the people I usually saw on bikes, so I guess everyone is ramping up for bike to work day!

And Bay to Breakers is this weekend. I'm going to be one sssoooooorrrreeee kitty by monday.

Oh, and my scary new sari obsession is a little closer to reality! I ordered a sari (much cheaper online, but a scarily cheap stitching charge for choli) and it's coming tommorow! Yay! soon i can embarass all my friends! yay!

I felt really sick yesterday. It was weird - no intestinal distress, but I was totally knocked on my ass. For about half a day I could hardly get off of the couch. Felt like I had a fever but I don't have a thermometer so it's hard to say. By late last night I was fine, though. Steph says the kids in her classroom have been coming down with something similar.

Meeting an old friend tomorrow night. I haven't seen Rob in around ten years! We were tight in high school and college but drifted apart after that. I am looking forward to it a lot.

This $350 Castlevania machine is pretty cool. My 360 can do all kinds of fancy things, but all I really want to do is play Castlevania: SOTN. I'm alright with that, I really am. I have a shitload of other games to get to when I have the time. I'll probably play them one or two at a time. I wish Microsoft would sell full games online (doesn't Sony do this?) because the 360's optical drive is so loud. I hope that in ten years we'll be laughing at the days when we used optical disks.

I now own something that purports to be a vintage european(austrian) bicycle.

It needs some work before I can reliably ride it to and from work - one of the brakes needs fixing, i need to adjust and grease some bolts, and replace the headlamp and maybe chop off a bit of the seat thing so i don't have to hop a bit to get on it.

Because the brick walledstudio apartment, thrift store shopping, hand made furniture, DIY movement supporting, organic vegetable delivery, a Burning Man ticket on my fridge, and employment with a .com wasn't enough to make me feel like enough of a pretentious hipster.

As JaME says, MUCC's latest album, Shion, is set to be released in Europe by Gan-Shin this summer. Though an exact release date has not been confirmed, it is said that the album will be out in June or July.

Sidenote: That's... the best icon I could come up with for politics on short notice. Yes, Dubya as a super Saiyan. Because I couldn't find an icon of Obama in a manga style. Maybe I'll make a different icon later.^^;; Anyway...

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a size Large Knuckle Duster ring.



For the record, it does have the size stamped on all 3 bands on the outside, and has the correct markings on the inside of one of the bands too.

It's in *excellent* condition, as I haven't worn it for very long since it's too big for me.

Just trying to gauge interest at the moment, and to see if there are any offers...

Edit: There is one small scuff on the bottom section that is completely covered when the rings are stacked. There is also a short vertical line on the top section on the left side (opposite of the orb's side), but it was made that way. Being costume jewellery, I'm told that it isn't always perfect and that slight imperfections are of merit.

in traditional work fashion, travel is on hold again *sighs* I'm getting tired, but not as tired as people who're trying to get their families sorted out as well. At least it's only really disrupting ME. I hate it when I'm all set to go, and crap gets yoinked again... It woulda been nice to have gone back to Japan, but methinks the boss said to those that get to decide that I'd "go native" and they pulled it. The buggers....

So... it's "lets spin the wheel and see where you end up time"... I'd say that I'm so sick of this shit, but it's really all par for the course (see all the way at the bottom for random amusement)

I can soooo see the English accent coming out tomorrow (aka, I'm pissed off) tho you never can tell which one it'll be - hell, I'd probably come out sounding like the Geico Gecko tomorrow at this rate.

So I'm back to deciding whether to rent the place out, or leave it empty cuz I'll be bouncing back and forth again *urg* Just watch... whichever way I end up going, it'll be WRONG. If I leave it empty, I'll end up not coming back every 2-ish months.... If I get someone in here, then it'll be "ooh, we're keeping you local for a while... nothing needs fixing...."

Presuming that this is legit, starting on Sunday, it might be a good time to start looking into spending some of that oh-so-delicious tax rebate money toward some Japanese equipment. Obviously, I'm not concerned about this given how recently I upgraded my camera body. But curiousity makes me wonder if a certain asianschoolboy is going to be tempted by the idea of getting a 40D for under $1k body only (B&H pricing would suggest $950 might be possible). Or maybe the temptation of a sub-$2k EOS-5D is going to be his undoing, as current pricing at B&H would suggest (maybe down to $1900). Even if a 5D successor were to come later in the year, getting a 5D at that price now might make up for a better camera later, right?

Unfortunately, most of the instant savings on the lenses look like weaksauce. If Canon were still doing double/triple rebates as they used to, then the rebates would look more attractive. However, as just instant-off, it's kind of meh.
