Since it's currently raining in SF where Japantown Anime Faire is being held, ziggybecket and I have made the executive decision to hold off on donning our bald cap (him) and wig (me) in favor of, you know, not melting once water hits us. We were planning on being The Turks Reno and Rude, with kitkat_nap as Elena, from Final Fantasy VII/Advent Children.

Instead, we're going to wear our black suits and look like male Japanese hosts* make up our own set of Turks. I've proposed calling us Turks: The Prequel and my name will be Vegas. Also, I don't have to bind my boobs. Everyone wins!


*Whoever's with me the next time I go to Japan, we're totally hitting that club up. Just for the small hope that I may see them perform that Resident Evil routine.

Anyone have any recommendations for car insurance? I'm currently on AAA, tied in with my parents' but damn are those guys are expensive. Opinions on the other guys and what I should be looking for in terms of policies/coverage, etc.? For what I pay for now, I don't get property damage covered and that's all that seems to happen with my car (from my stereo getting stolen a few years ago, to a couple of hit and runs). It'd be nice to get that covered, but its not a necessity.

Just the highlights... the con was just full of random surprises.

Surprise #1: Half a dozen people recognized us... freakin' amazing because that's half a dozen more than I anticipated.

Why do we always pick the rinky-dink cons to pull out some crazy cosplay plans? I wore a FLYING SQUIRREL suit that I bought to Otakon, one of the largest cons in the country. I didn't even make anything new for AX, and I wore a burlap sack to Fanime. LOL, hello, priorities.

For the record, our sweat shops started with Yaoi-Con 2003 with the Saiyuki jackets. Then there was MariMite for JTAF (con population of about... ohh... TWENTY) and now Gilgamesh for Yaoi-Con.

(The Easterlings don't count, by the way. So much work was put into those that I think it qualified as more of a labor union than a sweat shop. ;D)
