I've decide that if I could be any celebrity it would be
Rachel Ray. The woman gets paid to travel and eat, meet celebrities and eat, talk and eat, etc. I've also determined that my girls and I no longer make plans to hit up the clubs, drink our brains out, etc... instead we now make plans to... you guessed it...
eat.Participated in SF's
Dine About Town tonight at
Crustacean. (All you AOD nerds may know it as the restaurant around the corner of the hotel with the neon crab outside of it.) Every January, participating restaurants in SF create fixed price 3-course lunch and/or dinner menus. Lunch is set at $21.95 and dinner at $31.95, which is way cheaper than what you would normally spend for a 3-course meal otherwise.
Crustacean's fixed menu was as follows (I bolded the ones I got):
First CourseShrimp & Green Mango Roll or
Skewered Chicken with Asian pickled Vegetables or
Mixed Greens with Candied Walnuts
Second CourseShaken Beef with Jasmine Steam Rice or
Prawn Stir Fry with An's Garlic NoodlesThird CourseFried Banana a la mode or
Orange Cream Sorbet
An's (the owner) Garlic Noodles are OFF THE BRA STRAPS. You all should be glad that your monitors don't have Smell-O-Vision 'cause hoooo boy, am I rockin' the garlic! We also tried their crab puffs and papaya salad... mmm, mmm GOOD. Service was a little on the slow side (more time for cracking jokes), but other than that the food was great.
Between the four of us, on top of drinks, coffee and two extra appetizers on top of the fixed menu, total damage was $190. Not bad for 14 dishes! (Holy shit, we had
14 dishes.)
I need to go pass out now in hopes that the 1,000lbs of food I just consumed will magically disappear in the morning.
